Trying to Keep Up

   9-13-13
After leaving Logrono, we walked to Navarette and spent the night.  Another historic Camino town with cobbled streets.  Had great tapas (appetizers) in the bar.

   9-14-13 (Saturday)
We walked on to Najera and stayed in an albergue close to the cathedral.  People really like to sing in Spain.  At all the masses we've attended, the singing has been full throated.  We were staying by a busy neighborhood street, and male street singing and drumming was abundant until the wee morning.  Good thing we've got ear plugs!

   9-15-13
We  walked into Santo Domingo de la Calzada.  Stayed at a very nice albergue with over 200 beds.  Built in 2009 and was 5 stars for an albergue.  There were 12 bunk beds in our room.  Went to Mass in the historic cathedral honoring St. Domingo Garcia of the 11th century.

   9-16-13
Today we walked to Belorado.  It was a long walking day through wheat and sunflower fields.  We're starting to experience the hot dusty long flat paths.  We're experiencing cool, dark mornings with beautiful sunrises.  Need to go... Adios for now,
Kathy and Tom

  2. I am wondering how your feet are holding up. One of my students who did this last year talked about buying "special tape" at a pharmacy over there and taping each toe. She never got a blister, but her shoes did fall apart.
